Being based in Australia means postage costs for books from Amazon in the USA or the UK are very HIGH. So you can imagine my delight when I discovered Book Depository (based in the UK) offering a selection of more than 9 million titles at great prices AND they have FREE worldwide shipping! I contained my excitement before actually ordering five books and seeing them turn up on my doorstep. They took a few days extra for international postage but they all turned up safely and in a timely fashion. [Read more...]

Selling Products Online

bear grylls survival knife

Well, roughly two months in to my new online shopping venture and I’m discovering just how much I underestimated everything! How much it costs to offer a reasonable range of products, how many rules and regulations there are to sell knives in Australia, how much work it would take to get an ecommerce site up and going, how many distractions there are along the way, and how much there is to know about knives! My site is operational, but it still needs some tinkering and I only have a product range of just FIVE!
