Selling Products Online

bear grylls survival knife

Well, roughly two months in to my new online shopping venture and I’m discovering just how much I underestimated everything! How much it costs to offer a reasonable range of products, how many rules and regulations there are to sell knives in Australia, how much work it would take to get an ecommerce site up and going, how many distractions there are along the way, and how much there is to know about knives! My site is operational, but it still needs some tinkering and I only have a product range of just FIVE! So I need to multiply that number by about 100 and sort out the niggling bugs before I move into the next phase, which is actually selling products! [Read more...]

Starting an Ecommerce Shop Online

For years now I have been going to start an online store but have kept putting it off and putting off, until today when I finally took my first few concrete steps! I plan to sell all things knives and blades here in Australia. I’m going to start very small and gradually expand as I learn my way around shopping carts and the knife industry. I’m calling the shop Blades of Oz and will share the steps I take along the way. [Read more...]

Walmart Selling “Fat Girl Costumes”

walmart fat girl costumes

We complain when companies stretch the truth with their marketing campaigns but can they also be too truthful? Walmart has found itself in hot water after creating a category on its ecommerce website called Fat Girl Costumes. Customers were quickly offended by the stunt or mistake by the giant retailer and made it viral on social media. The politically correct police were quickly on top of the situation and forced Walmart to take it down and make an apology. As a small business, would you risk doing something like this? List of Wholesale Clothes Suppliers

wholesale clothes companies

One of the larger and more popular categories on the Wholesalers Network website is the clothing and fashion category. I’m currently going through it to delete companies that have closed down and to add new wholesalers that haven’t been listed. If you’re not already listed in the Wholesale Clothes section or you use a great clothing wholesaler that isn’t listed, let us know about it. [Read more...]

Chocolate Factory to become Marijuana Farm

hershey chocolate factory

I was just reading an interesting story about a chocolate factory possibly becoming a marijuana growing farm and had a good laugh. The Canadian factory in Smith Falls, Ontario previously made chocolates for the Hershey’s company for decades.¬†Tweed Inc has now applied to grow medical marijuana in the location. The two businesses would probably compliment each other well; as after the customer has had some of the marijuana he or she will inevitably get the munchies and then go looking for chocolate bars ;-) [Read more...]

List of Wholesale Food Suppliers

list of food suppliers

I have been working on the list of wholesale food suppliers on the WholesalersNetwork directory and have noticed that quite a few smaller food producers have closed up shop over the years. I guess it’s in part because of the larger food producers and processors buying up the smaller players, but I’m also sure there’s a lot failing to adapt in this new economy. [Read more...]

Wholesale Blogs

list of wholesale blogs

Wholesale blogs are few and far between when compared with shop front blogs or e-commerce blogs, but things seem to be changing. Same goes for social media and b2b, it has been a neglected area for many companies. More and more companies are starting to see that it’s about building relationships with current customers and an offshoot of this relationship building through blogs and social media then leads to creating new customers. Best Toys of the 1980s

I was just browsing through Time magazine’s 100 greatest toys of all time list and remembered my childhood! Being born in the seventies, I was a kid in the eighties, so a lot of them brought back memories. I didn’t necessarily own many of them but I would have been bombarded with advertising of them at the time. [Read more...]
